I am an evolutionary behavioral ecologist interested in the diversity of reproductive and signaling traits that we see in nature. I hope to understand both broad patterns of trait evolution as well as the fine-scale behavioral and physiological processes that underlie them. I'm especially interested in the interplay between signaling, reproduction, and predation risk.

I work primarily with live-bearing fishes in the family Poeciliidae, which display an astonishing variety of reproductive and signaling traits. Despite decades of research on this family, a general framework for understanding the major evolutionary drivers of these traits is only beginning to develop.

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Dan Powell's lab at Louisiana State University. I received a Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2026 and a B.A. in Biology from Carleton College in 2019.
